Ecell Global secures One Direction phone case rights

Blackpool-based Ecell Global has entered into a two year paid licensing agreement with One Direction and Global Merchandising Services to manufacture and distribute One Direction branded phone and tablet cases.

The agreement includes the United Kingdom, USA, Australia, Germany, Italy and Japan.

Jens Drinkwater, licensing executive at Global Merchandising Services, said: “The partnership with Ecell Global for branded 1D phone cases allows us to offer fans a stylish and fashionable way to show their support for the band everyday.”

Ecell which already offers a portfolio of more than 7,000 original designs across 250 device models, will leverage its online retail channels including it’s own Head Case Designs website and online stores within eBay and Amazon to offer enthusiastic One Direction fans the chance to show their support via their phone and tablet cases.

Ecell’s CEO & co-founder Cem Celikkol said: “The partnership with Global to produce branded One Direction phone and tablet cases allows us to extend our existing design portfolio to connect with our youth demographic, who use their phone cases as an form of self expression.” One Direction was recently awarded Best Celebrity/Music License at the 2015 International LIMA Awards during the Licensing Expo show in Las Vegas, for their innovative fan integrations.
