eBusiness UK helps Preston business expand nationwide

A new web development project completed by eBusiness UK under coronavirus lockdown has helped a Preston salon to expand across the UK and beyond.

The Blackburn-based digital agency has been working with Glow Beauty Centre owner Naseem Patel as she launched NSKin, which trains salon owners and sells high quality skin care products.

Naseem has operated her city-centre salon for nearly eight years, attracting high profile and celebrity clients including Camilla Ainsworth, the entrepreneur behind MYLKPLUS and a finalist on The Apprentice, and Jemma Lucy, star of a string of reality TV shows including Celebrity Big Brother.

The best way to expand the business was to pass on her expertise to others. Naseem ordered a new website, with an ecommerce function which allowed her to begin selling online for the first time.

She said: “Our salon is so popular that people are willing to travel to us for our treatments, but we are limited in the number of people we can see. We could have opened a second salon but realised that the quickest way to grow was to empower others to establish their own businesses across the UK, and around the world.”

Glow specialises in the types of advanced and innovative skin care products and treatments which may be available in Hollywood, but don’t usually appear in the UK until many years later.

The coronavirus pandemic and social distancing guidelines meant Naseem had to temporarily close her salon, but this may actually have helped the launch of her new business.

Naseem said: “The lockdown has given me the opportunity to spend more time developing this new part of my business. It also meant that our customers, who were stuck at home, began shopping for quality products online, and that meant we had a strong start to our ecommerce operation.

“We were also due to start our training courses, and although many have been postponed we have been able to convert some to online courses and, overall, have been able to turn a difficult situation into a positive experience.”

Nasir Kothia, director at eBusiness UK, said: “Naseem is a great example of an ambitious entrepreneur who has big dreams and the ability to achieve them. We built an ecommerce website, and though we had to finish it under lockdown, it has already proven popular with customers.”

NSKin’s new ranges and training courses can be found online at www.nskin.co.uk
