Accrington Stanley has announced DWS Electrical as the club’s newest board sponsor, further strengthening ties between the club and the local business community.

DWS Electrical is led by Director Danny Williams-Shaw, a proud Lancashire lad who lives in Accrington with his wife Emily and their 15-month-old son, who is already the owner of an Accrington Stanley kit, wearing it proudly for his first ever football match on Boxing Day against Barrow.

The sponsorship includes a sponsors board in the Taylors Scaffolding-sponsored Jack Barrett Stand at the Wham Stadium, and marks a special milestone for Danny, combining his professional success with his passion for the local area and its football club.

With almost 15 years’ experience in the electrical trade, Danny and DWS Electrical have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to domestic, commercial and industrial clients across the country.

Based in Colne, the company works extensively throughout the North West, including in Accrington, and has been involved in several local projects such as EV charger installations and upgrading lighting systems to energy-efficient LED panels with motion-sensing technology, as well as upgrading heating systems to more energy-efficient models.

DWS Electrical specialises in electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, lighting design and electrical inspections. The company’s focus is on ensuring every space is powered safely and efficiently, giving customers peace of mind at every stage of a project. The business continues to go from strength to strength, reflecting Danny’s dedication and hands-on approach.

Danny left school at 16 with a clear ambition to pursue a trade rather than university. Starting out earning £90 a week and travelling across the country for work, he has since turned that early determination into a thriving business that now supports clients nationwide.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Danny said: “I am very proud to be sponsoring Accrington Stanley. It’s a big, family-orientated club and I will be bringing my son here in a few years’ time.”

Jodie Hargreaves, Accrington Stanley commercial manager, said: “We would like to thank Danny and everyone at DWS Electrical for their fantastic support. It’s great to have them on board as a sponsor.

“We’re proud to be working with a successful local business that shares our community values and we look forward to building a strong relationship together.”
