Deborah Topping from DT Information Governance finally collected her winners certificate from Theo Paphitis at this year's Small Business Sunday (#SBS) event, held in Birmingham in late February.
The #SBS is a weekly event on a Sunday, where Theo asks businesses to tell them why they should be selected as one of that week’s 6 winners and a little about their business.
As #SBS is now in its 15years, winning opens opportunities in a community of over 4,500 winning businesses.
As the director and consultant for DT Information Governance, Deborah submitted her ‘entry’ via X (Twitter as was) three years ago, but it was only this year that she was able to attend the annual event.
This year, around 1,000 businesses attended giving plenty of opportunity to network, talk about the consultancy and training side of DT Information Governance and catch up in person with business owners that have perhaps only been met in virtual environments.
The theme for this years conference event was Resilience Rocks and there were speakers on this theme, including a hearing from three small businesses experiences of resilience, a pitch competition for super mentoring and financial prizes, and Fireside Chat with Katie Piper about her resilience after the attack she was subjected to, setting up her charity and the resilience needed to overcome obstacles.
It was an interesting day and well worth the trip to Birmingham.
