DRN celebrates win at Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge Awards

A glittering awards ceremony was held at Burnley Mechanics, when DRN’s Stuart McNamara won the prestigious Best Fundraiser of the Year award. DRN were also highly commended for their hard work throughout the challenge, raising a grand total of £6,001!

This outstanding total made DRN the sixth-highest fundraiser - out of the 42 businesses who took part.

Each year, businesses from across East Lancashire raise thousands of pounds for Pendleside Hospice by taking part in the Corporate Challenge. This year broke all records, with a huge £157,000 being raised for this well-loved local charity - smashing the target by tens of thousands of pounds.

The event was attended by many local businesses including Burnley FC In the Community, Petty Estate Agents, Batch Brew, BCW Engineering, Root Fifty Two, Chess, Seriun and Slimming World. The law firm also supported the event by sponsoring the drinks reception.

Director David Lawson said: “We are extremely proud of Stuart for his win against such strong competition, and of our whole team who threw themselves into the fundraising with great enthusiasm.

"The awards night at Burnley Mechanics was lots of fun and an excellent opportunity to celebrate and network with leading businesses from all over East Lancashire. Drinks were flowing, we raised thousands of pounds for charity and it was an opportunity to celebrate the great work Pendleside Hospice do in our community. A fantastic night was had by all.” DRN’s fundraising activities over the course of the 2018 competition included their popular “Uncork and Unwind” event at Tubbs of Colne, which raised more than £1,700 for Pendleside Hospice.
