Burnley FC in the Community is delighted to announce it has been nominated for two awards at the upcoming Northwest Football Awards.

The Clarets’ official charity has triumphed for the past three years in the Community Club of the Year category, winning the award in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

“The strength of our community presence locally is fundamental to what Burnley Football Club represents so for that to be recognised, in our home region, is humbling. We will look forward to the event in November.”

Founded in January 2014, Burnley FC in the Community has grown from a small organisation with a staff-base of just three to a multi-million-pound charity, employing over 100 people, engaging with 27,000 individuals and delivering over 40 community projects across East Lancashire. Specialising in the key fields of Sport, Education, Health and Social Inclusion, the charity also now operates an education hub at Turf Moor, Whitehough Outdoor Education Centre in Pendle, a foodbank facility in Burnley town centre and will open the Leisure Box – a £4 million state-of-the-art leisure facility – in January 2019.
