Detailed plans go in for 195 Preston homes

Housebuilder Story Homes has submitted a detailed planning application for phase two of its D’Urton Manor development in Fulwood, Preston.

The developer is seeking the green light for its re-plan of phase two of the development which will deliver 195 homes - bringing the total on the site to 329.

It says a decision on  what it describes as a “key development” is expected later this year.

D’Urton Manor is one of 11 key sites identified as part of the 10-year City Deal signed by Preston, South Ribble and Lancashire councils in 2013.

Story Homes’ land manager Martin Nugent said: “Our application details how the development has been re-planned to deliver 195 homes in this phase, which will bring the total development to 329 new homes.

“The 329 family homes, which includes 45 affordable homes is a key development in the area.

This phase will bring the total development to 329 new homes

“The development will also provide public open space including a children’s play area, a care facility, enhanced ecological habitat areas and a much needed new link road between Eastway and D’Urton Lane.”

The company says that the development will help deliver the original vision for the Eastway development.

And Story says it will also make financial contributions towards transport links including improvements to footpaths, cycle paths, highways and public transport.
