Deadline approaching for EVA entries

Having already received an unprecedented number of nominations for this year’s Enterprise Vision Awards, those still looking to enter are being warned that the deadline to enter is fast approaching.

Women in business looking to enter or have been nominated have until midnight on June 28 to submit their full entries, which will then go before judges to be shortlisted.

Those who are successful in reaching the shortlist will then be invited to make a presentation before the panel of judges to fight for the title of winner in their category.

Jane Halpin and Denise Armer of Lancaster-based Unique Kidz and Co and winner of the 2012 New Business of the Year Award said: “We were absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted in not one but two categories of Eva awards, New Business and Inspirational Woman.

"As two mums not from a business background everything is a learning experience for us and we found the interview a positive experience and not too daunting. We went along to the awards evening just looking forward to a good night out and in fact we were so busy admiring the sponsors dress for the ‘New Business Award’ that we couldn’t believe it when we heard our name called out!

"To win New Business out of such a fantastic shortlist was an amazing boost for us and our team as although we are a charity we do have to run like a business especially in the current climate. Being Eva award winners has opened lots of doors for us it’s been a fantastic tool for raising awareness of our charity and also the problems families with disabled children face. I would recommend entering the awards to anyone as it’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and promote your achievements.”

Coral Horn, co-founder of the EVAs, which have this year been sponsored by NatWest, added: “The Enterprise Vision Awards are a fantastic way of celebrating the achievements of your business and highlighting them to your team and clients. The knock-on effect that past winners have seen from the PR opportunities has made a real difference to their business which is just fantastic to see. ” The winners of the Enterprise Vision Awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony taking place on October 4 at the Hilton Blackpool hotel.
