OVER 12000 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE 2023 ACCRINGTON FOOD FESTIVAL.jpg.jpg

Following the extremely successful 2023 Accrington Food & Culture Festival, organisers #AmazingAccrington have announced that the 2024 Accrington Food Festival will take place on Saturday 1st June from 10am.

The 2023 event saw over 12,000 people flock to Accrington town centre for a magical day filled with delicious food, fun for all the family and entertainment across the town square, market hall and in the grounds of St James Church.

North Lancs Training Group (NLTG), the Accrington-based training provider, have already been named as main sponsor for the 2024 food festival, which will see them sponsor the event for the third year in a row.

#AmazingAccrington will once again be looking to celebrate the very best of Lancashire produce and cuisine from around the world and are inviting local businesses to apply now for a stall. Anyone interested in having a stall is encouraged to act fast, with demand in 2023 exceeding capacity and with no more than two stalls in one sector, stalls will be available on a first come, first served basis. To register your interest please email: [email protected] or visit https://www.amazingaccrington.co.uk/amazingaccrington-2023-stallholder-application/

Alongside a fantastic display of food stalls, #AmazingAccrington are planning an even bigger and better food festival in 2024, with exciting plans to be announced over the coming months and into next year.

Coun Marlene Haworth, leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: “The 2023 Accrington Food & Culture festival was the biggest and best event this town has ever seen in my memory, and we are delighted to support Murray and his #AmazingAccrington team for 2024, it is a key event in our diary.

“The event brought so much money into the economy and everyone had such an amazing time, and we are thrilled to announce that the event will be going ahead next year.”

Murray Dawson, chair of #AmazingAccrington, commented: “We are so proud to be organising the Accrington Food Festival once again in 2024, an event which we thoroughly enjoy being part of.

“Here at #AmazingAccrington we are determined to run all our events on Saturdays, to ensure we bring great footfall into the town for our local businesses.

“To be able to set a date so soon for 2024 will allow us to plan an even bigger event, including getting some of those key stall holders in place and a ‘taste of Lancashire’ – having said that scotch eggs and smoked kippers are on my target list for 2024, plus how can we beat this year’s Spitfire and D-Day commemorations? The team have been tasked!”

Gareth Lindsay, managing director at North Lancs Training Group, said: “The Accrington Food Festival is a tremendous event to be part of and we are delighted to be signed up as main sponsors again in 2024. The event attracts so many people and our Furniture tutors and apprentices are already busy planning more deck chairs for 2024.

“The whole team at NLTG really embraces the event and it is one of the key dates that we look forward to every year, to both meet new people and be part of our local community.”
