Blackburn-based recruitment specialists, Cummins Mellor, are thrilled to be hosting their famous ‘BYZ Quiz’ on Thursday 18th November alongside their sister-companies CJUK and Personnel Checks.

Like last year, the event will be held virtually at 6pm with all proceeds going to Blackburn Youth Zone, helping them to continue providing their employability services programme to support young people’s employment opportunities.

Initiatives like this will be key to ensuring that the UK makes a rapid and full economic recovery from COVID-19, enabling young people to kick start their journey into the world of work.

The quiz is promised to be a great laugh and is the perfect opportunity for some teambuilding, healthy competition and networking with colleagues and other businesses.

The aim is to reach 100 teams to beat last year’s total of £4,000 which was doubled up with the “Big Give” Initiative. Forbes Solicitors emerged as Champions on the night, closely followed by Sales Geek & BNI Vista in joint second place.

Some of the raffle prizes secured so far include distillery tour tickets for Brindle Distillery (the home of Cuckoo gin), afternoon tea for 2 at the Lowry Hotel, an overnight stay for two at Pendle Inn, an Alexa Echo Show and a £50 voucher for Turtle Bay.

Cummins Mellor’s Managing Director, Katie Mellor, is also raffling a one hour corporate yoga class after training to become a yoga teacher in her spare time.

In previous years, BYZ Quiz has been held at Dunkenhalgh Hotel and has raised up to £20,000 from ticket sales, raffle tickets and brilliant auction prizes donated by some of Lancashire’s leading businesses. Cummins Mellor hope to be able to host an in-person event next year when there is more certainty around it being able to go ahead.
