Create Construction forms partnership with Bricks Capital on student accommodation projects

Create Construction has teamed up with Bricks Capital on the construction of two premium student accommodation projects in Swansea and Salford Quays under the award-winning ‘true’ student brand.

Create will bring to the table their considerable experience in the delivery of high-volume accommodation and will support Bricks Capital with their expertise in land appraisal, pre construction and build delivery – extending their pipeline of work as the Company continues its impressive growth. 

Bricks Capital brings a different approach to property investment and management, overseeing  purpose-built student accommodation, hotel and residential projects across the UK, with a portfolio under construction in excess of £320 million.

The two companies will team up to create another two new truestudent projects in Morfa Road, Swansea and Discovery Quay, Salford.

Morfa Road, Swansea

This £34m contract to build a 706 bed student development of 25,500 m2, - comprises 484 individual suites, 192 ensuite rooms with shared lounges & kitchens, as well as 30 additional accessible rooms.

The ground floor amenity spaces contain a cinema, library, gym and large recreation area with a spiral slide which is accessed from a mezzanine deck. Further communal spaces throughout the development include a ‘sensory room’ to aid student relaxation, and a number of the very popular ‘Come Dine with Me’ suites, available for students to book and in which they can host dinner parties or cultural celebrations.

The building will be ready for student intake at the start of the academic year in September 2020

Discovery Quay, Salford

This £24.5m contract comprises of a 25%/75% split between ensuite and studio student accommodation, with 404 student bedrooms over 14,500 m2 . The completed development will also provide a coffee shop, library, lounge, media and gaming area and stunning double-story reception, again with the unique ‘true slide’, and will be ready for student intake in Summer 2020.

Bricks Capital’s successful true brand is attracting students from all over the world with its offering of premium accommodation - providing double beds with high-quality ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes, along with shared apartments providing ensuite bathrooms, shared kitchens and lounge areas – all with bills and WiFi included. The flagship true Glasgow West End recently won the prestigious Property Week ‘Private Halls of Residence of the Year’ for 2018, and the brand is growing from strength to strength

Each development has an holistic approach to student accommodation, providing a wide range of social spaces, including welcoming reception, dining, fitness and entertainment facilities. The company engages positively with a wide-range of local partners, hosting events and activities and providing support & well-being services for the residents.
