Leading North West accountancy and business advisory firm, Cowgills is proud to announce its official sponsorship of England Lions cricketer, Josh Bohannon.
A rising star in English cricket, after learning his trade in the Bolton League, Josh signed with Lancashire County Cricket Club in 2017 and has since gone on to represent the England Lions, including a tour of Australia. His impressive career continues to go from strength to strength, and this sponsorship marks the next milestone in his journey.
Cowgills acquired Wigan practice NRB earlier this month.
NRB has been supporting Josh since 2022, recognising his talent and commitment to both his sport and personal development. Following Cowgills’ acquisition the sponsorship continues under the Cowgills banner.
Scott Lees, partner at Cowgills, said: “We’re thrilled to see our partnership with Josh continue as part of Cowgills.
"Supporting local talent is a core part of our values, and Josh is not only an incredible athlete, but is also a dedicated individual planning ahead for life beyond cricket.
"He’s currently self-funding his studies with a view of looking into a career in finance/financial management, once he calls time on his playing career. Who knows, he might be sat opposite me one day, crunching the numbers!”
Cowgills’ acquisition of NRB is part of a broader growth strategy enabled by the Sumer Group, targeting like-minded firms that share its entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic culture.
This sponsorship reflects Cowgills’ ongoing commitment to community investment and nurturing local ambition - on and off the field.
