County conference considers building the future through apprenticeships

Lancashire businesses looking to develop and grow their workforces can learn about the power of apprenticeships at a free online conference featuring leading training providers and red rose county employers.

The Lancashire Apprenticeship Conference will take place on 9th February from 10am to 12pm and will explore the various ways in which apprenticeships schemes enable organisations to recruit new workers as well as develop the skills of their existing teams.

There will also be wider discussion about the positive influence of apprenticeship programmes on the Lancashire economy, and how they can be utilised to keep the region competitive on a national and international playing field.

Build the Future: Train, Retain, Achieve has been organised by Lancashire Business View magazine to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week 2022, a UK-wide campaign to promote apprenticeships schemes.

The event will feature:

  • Representatives from the county’s top providers of apprenticeship schemes
  • Insight from employers who will share first-hand experiences of employing apprentices
  • Apprentices themselves, telling their stories.

Attendees will be able to learn from discussions and advice relating to common issues such as funding, paperwork and support.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View, said: “Apprenticeships continue to evolve, offering a wider variety of benefits to a broader range of businesses - but many of those who could take advantage are still unsure if it’s for them, or there’s trepidation about taking that first step.

“This conference brings together advice, case studies and debate about the programmes. It’s ideal for any business considering recruiting apprentices, or who may already do so but wants to get more out of their investment.

“We’ve got a great selection of contributors and all those who attend will gain a great deal of valuable information which they can apply to their own organisations.”
