Coulter completes £140,000 growth project at WEX Europe Services

Leading North West design and fit-out company, Coulter Office Interiors, has completed a five-year redesign project at WEX Europe Services, one of Europe’s largest providers of fuel cards, which has enabled the organisation to grow ninefold since it began operating in 2014.

The £142,000 project has seen Coulter facilitate WEX Europe Services’s growth ambitions, expanding their single floor office in Crewe into a two-storey business centre totalling 14,700 sq ft – a move that has enabled them to expand their workforce by 180 employees over the last five years.

A key part of this design was ensuring the firm retained its ‘start-up’ culture. Coulter installed 50 collaborative bench desks throughout the open plan work areas, with suspended ceiling signs being the sole differentiator between each department, to enhance communication and foster interpersonal relationships within the company.

The main office space also features ergonomic furniture, including height adjustable desks for employees with specific health requirements, and red acoustic divider screens, which reduce noise pollution, offer privacy and create a brand-immersive experience showcasing WEX Europe Services’s corporate colour.

Coulter also refurbished the building’s communal areas; two kitchens and a main breakout room, contrasting chequered red and grey vinyl tiling with modern white furnishings. They also relocated much of the existing floor boxes and cabling throughout the office to accommodate the extra demand.
