CoolKit makes it 180 for Bondholders

Expanding Burnley-based refrigerated vehicle manufacturer CoolKit has joined Burnley Bondholders, bringing the number of businesses signed up to the scheme to 180.

Established in 2005, CoolKit is a provider of refrigerated vans, fridge van conversions and van insulating kits, to a wide spectrum of industries including food and drink, pharmaceuticals, agricultural and science industries.

Employing more than 70 people on a site of 2.5 acres, CoolKit produces more than 1,500 insulating kits annually.

The company has expanded its staff and facilities extensively in the last twelve months following an average 40% year-on-year growth over the last six years. With many new large contracts underway, the workforce has already grown by more than 50% in the last twelve months to more than 70 employees.

Now expanding into Europe, the company announced the appointment of its first authorised distributor in continental Europe in June this year.

Organised by Burnley Council, the Burnley Bondholder Scheme is a network of organisations who contribute financially or in-kind to promoting Burnley as a place to live, work, visit, invest and do business.

Welcoming CoolKit managing director Rupert Gatty to the scheme, Burnley Council chief executive Pam Smith said: “Bondholders are passionate about Burnley and believe more of the right people need to know about our world-class aerospace industry, our skilled workforce, our new schools, colleges and university, nationally significant industrial heritage and breathtaking countryside. “We are very proud to welcome CoolKit to the scheme, as their success in recent years exemplifies everything that is great about business in Burnley.”
