Conference to set scene for healthier, more productive workforces

A new conference has been announced to inform and inspire Lancashire businesses to create healthier, happier and more productive workforces.

The Lancashire Health and Wellbeing Conference 2023 will take place on Thursday 26 January and will bring business together with influential figures from the worlds of health and wellbeing.

The intent behind the event, which takes place at Crow Wood Hotel, Burnley, is to help businesses support their employees to build happier and more productive teams, and share successful strategies for recruitment, retention and employee engagement.

There will also be a reflection on public health and business learnings from the pandemic.

Speakers so far confirmed include:

  • Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, the director of public health at Lancashire County Council and the face of Lancashire health during the pandemic
  • Sherry Kothari, founder and investor in health-tech businesses and former director of Lancaster University’s Health Innovation Campus
  • Hamish Hamilton, the chair of the Vistage leadership programme
  • Lee Chambers, founder of the multi-award-winning Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing, and a regular on TV, radio and in print
  • Steve Brennan is co-founder and CEO of Bespoke, an Investors in People accredited digital agency
  • They will be joined by companies who have successfully invested in the health and wellbeing of their employees, sharing the ups and downs of their own journeys.

And there will be exhibition space for companies working in the sector to showcase their products and services, as well as ample networking opportunities for delegates to meet with speakers, health and wellbeing specialists and fellow attendees.

Rachael Norris, marketing and events director Lancashire Business View, which is staging the event, said: “The health and wellbeing of employees and leaders is one of the most talked-about topics as we head into 2023.
“But as much as businesses want to do right by their teams, ensuring time and money is invested in the right ways can seem like a daunting task.

“This conference will show where to start, what resources are available and will give examples of best practice.

“The event is for all businesses keen to learn about health and wellbeing strategies that support recruitment, retention and employee engagement.

“Whatever the size or sector of your organisation – our speakers and experts will be ready with winning strategies that you can take away and apply within your organisation.”

Further details of speakers, sponsors and the complete agenda will be revealed shortly.

There is still time for businesses to get involved, either as sponsor, speaker or exhibitor, with the conference providing a fantastic opportunity to connect with Lancashire owners, managers and decision-makers.

The event will be reviewed in full in Lancashire Business View’s Health and Wellbeing Report in the March-April edition and shared with 50,000 readers in print and online.
