Business Health Matters (BHM) has been announced as the headline sponsor of the Lancashire Health and Wellbeing Conference 2023, which will take place on Thursday 26 January at Crow Wood Hotel in Burnley.

The brand new event designed to inform and inspire Lancashire businesses to create healthier, happier and more productive workforces.

BHM is one of the most influential organisations championing employee health and wellbeing in the region and brings a wealth of experience to the event.

Part of Active Lancashire, BHM is supported by a range of partners including UCLan, Lancashire Mind, UKactive, Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Chambers of Commerce, Sport England and Lancashire County Council.

The BHM programme delivers training, health checks and supportive wellbeing packages in workplaces to empower employees to improve their overall health whilst employers benefit from increased productivity within their workforces.

Adrian Leather, chief executive of Active Lancashire, said: “At Business Health Matters, we believe the health and wellbeing of employees is absolutely key to the future success and prosperity of our county.

“Being part of an event that brings together businesses who share our goal of a healthier workforce is a really exciting prospect and one we are thrilled to be associated with. As a headline sponsor we are looking forward to meeting these businesses and hearing from a range of esteemed speakers on their experiences in improving wellbeing and staff productivity within their roles.

“We’ll also be adding in some of our own tried-and-tested tips that Lancashire businesses can implement to make 2023 their healthiest year yet!”

The event will feature guest speakers and contributors including:

Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, the director of public health at Lancashire County Council and the face of Lancashire health during the pandemic
Sherry Kothari, founder and investor in health-tech businesses and former director of Lancaster University’s Health Innovation Campus
Hamish Hamilton, the chair of the Vistage leadership programme
Lee Chambers, founder of the multi-award-winning Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing, and a regular on TV, radio and in print
Steve Brennan is co-founder and CEO of Bespoke, an Investors in People accredited digital agency
They will be joined by companies who have successfully invested in the health and wellbeing of their employees, sharing the ups and downs of their own journeys.

And there will be exhibition space for companies working in the sector to showcase their products and services, as well as ample networking opportunities for delegates to meet with speakers, health and wellbeing specialists and fellow attendees.

Joanne Hindley, sales director at Lancashire Business View, which is staging the event, said: “We are delighted to bring Business Health Matters on board as headline sponsor for the conference.

“Championing the health and happiness of employees is at the core of everything they do and they are backed by some of the county’s most influential organisations. By drawing on this experience and sharing their insight, we are giving attendees the option to learn from experts at the cutting-edge of this most important of topics.”

There is still plenty of time for businesses to get involved, either as sponsor, speaker or exhibitor, with the conference providing a fantastic opportunity for you to connect with Lancashire owners, managers and decision-makers.

The event will be reviewed in full in Lancashire Business View’s Health and Wellbeing Report in Lancashire Business View’s March/April edition and shared with its 50,000 readers in print and online.
