Cobra UK relocation creates jobs in Blackburn and Burnley
Cobra UK, the stolen vehicle tracking specialist and subsidiary of Cobra Group based in Varese, Italy, is creating jobs in Lancashire after relocating from Sale, Cheshire.The group provides security, safety and telematics products for the automotive and insurance industries with direct operations in the UK, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Japan and China.
The company supplies stolen vehicle tracking and recovery services to a range of marques from Aston Martin to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.Cobra UK is relocating those staff who wish to move from its head office in Sale, Cheshire to a purpose-built alarm receiving centre with first floor office space formerly operated by security and fire protection specialist Chubb at Network 65 Business Park in Burnley, the purchase of which completed in December 2013.
A significant number of new jobs will be created in the alarm receiving centre and further jobs will be created now that the company has taken a five-year lease on a 10,941 sq ft warehousing and office facility at Unit 5, Duttons Way, Shadsworth Business Park, Blackburn.The properties are within 10 miles of each other and are both located close to the M65 which offers access to the M6/M61 and M66. The premises in Burnley and Blackburn were both acquired on behalf of Cobra UK by Andy Backhouse, associate director, industrial and logistics at the North West office of real estate advisors Colliers International in Manchester. Blackburn-based chartered surveyors Trevor Dawson acted for landlord Steelacre 2 Ltd.
