Lancashire PR agency, Catapult PR, has ended the year by scooping four awards at the CIPR PRide Awards in the Northwest region, including a sixth ‘Best Independent Practitioner’ title for managing director, Jane Hunt.

The Poulton-le-Fylde-based public relations and content writing specialist took two Gold Awards and two Silvers, at an award ceremony held at the Edwardian Hotel in Manchester.

Taking the Gold Award for Independent Practitioner gave Jane Hunt her fourth win in a row of this title.  She won the same accolade in 2022, 2021, 2019.  The awards were cancelled in 2020, due to Covid.  She previously also won this award in 2011, the first year in which it launched, and in 2017, not entering in-between.  In 2018, she won Silver in this category.

In addition, she is the only independent practitioner in the country to have won the CIPR Excellence Award for Outstanding Independent Practitioner on two occasions, taking this title in 2012 and 2021.  In 2022, she judged this national category on behalf of the CIPR, rather than entering, and did not enter this year.

The other Gold PR award scooped in Manchester was for the Best Long-term PR campaign.  Catapult PR was shortlisted in this category against Weber Shandwick.  Its campaign related to the World Topiary Day initiative that it first launched in 2021, which has generated outstanding results since its conception.

Silver Awards were also won in the Best Arts, Culture and Sport category and in the Best Corporate and Business Communications category.  The latter related to a campaign that has helped bring about the local broker renaissance, with this conducted on behalf of Leeds-based broker and appointed representative network, Gauntlet Group.  Catapult PR has represented this thriving business since 2013, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary with this client.

Jane Hunt says: “I am delighted to win these four awards, which add to our scooping of a Gold PR Moment Award, for Best Travel PR campaign, and the Prolific North Marketing Award for Best Small Budget Campaign, this year.  These six awards take the total in our trophy cabinet to 65!

“It is also personally rewarding to be adjudged the best independent practitioner in the region.  Whilst we conduct campaigns that are as good or better as any other agency, we are not able to enter the small agency award category, so at least the independent practitioner accolade demonstrates that there is someone at the helm who knows their stuff when it comes to PR.  Put that  information together with the factual evidence of the category awards won and it should communicate that Catapult PR is a great agency to which to bring your PR or content writing brief.”
