A top national law firm, with offices in Manchester, Birmingham and London among others, has been nominated for an esteemed accolade at this year’s Family Law Awards.

Cartwright King Solicitors, which has its head office in Blackburn, has been shortlisted for the Children’s Law Team of the Year, which aims to highlight those who have displayed outstanding work in the areas of family law regarding children.

The annual celebration which gathers some of country’s top family lawyers is set for November 20 at the esteemed Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.

Chief Executive Officer of Cartwright King Solicitors, Abdul Hussain, said: “We are incredibly honoured to receive this national nomination, and it is a privilege to stand alongside other talented and passionate nominees.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team, who work tirelessly to ensure that every client we represent receives the justice and care they deserve."

The Family Law Awards began in 2011 to recognise excellence in family law by bringing together industry leaders in the country.

The converted event doubles as a networking hub, providing guests with the unique opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the valuable contribution family law makes to society.

Featuring more than 20 categories, including the Family Law Community Interaction and Family Law Innovation of the Year Awards, this year has brought in a record-breaking number of nominations.

The shortlist is selected by a judging panel comprised of the heads of the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution, the Association of Lawyers for Children, and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, as well as Family Law editors and publishing professionals.

Previous winners of the award include Sills and Betteridge in 2023, and joint winners 1GC Family Law and Bindman’s in 2022.

As specialist solicitors, Cartwright King offers extensive experience in numerous areas of law with a mission to ensure legal advice and representation is accessible to all.

Its family law services involve offering trusted advice backed by experience in dealing with a wealth of family issues, ensuring clients are fully prepared for whatever process they may be facing.

Their team of in-house barristers specialise in courtroom advocacy and litigation, meaning they can take cases to be heard in superior courts or tribunals.

Earlier this year the firm received a band 1 ranking from the UK Chambers and Partners Directory’s 2024 edition for its East and West Midlands Crime departments, distinguishing it as a sector leader with exceptional reputation and expertise.

On top of these accolades, Cartwright King was recognised as a leading criminal defence firm in the country by the UK Legal 500 Directory’s 2024 edition.

Of the nomination, Mr Hussain added: “We are looking forward to the upcoming awards ceremony and continuing to provide exceptional services to our clients, ensuring justice is accessible to all.

“This nomination is an accurate reflection of the passion, hard work, and unwavering dedication of our entire team, and I am proud to lead such an extraordinary group of professionals."
