Careers Expo returns to Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College will bring the county's employers and young people together for its Careers Expo on June 28.

The annual event is aimed at aimed at school and college leavers and their parents, job seekers or individuals looking for a career change.

It is designed to share information about apprenticeships, volunteering and work placement opportunities, giving individuals the opportunity to engage directly with local organisations such as Lancashire Constabulary, acdc, Seafood Pub Company, McDonald's and James' Places.

There will be workshops to take part in to develop employability and interview skills, as well expert careers advice and further information on progression to Nelson and Colne College’s University Centre.

Burnley FC in the Community staff will also be on hand to offer information on a new traineeship programme that will be delivered in partnership with Nelson and Colne College.

In total, more than 30 businesses are signed up so far from a wide range of employment sectors, including business and professional services, catering and hospitality, childcare, creative and digital, engineering, health and social care, information technology and more. The Careers Expo takes place at Nelson and Colne College Careers Expo on Thursday 28 June between 5pm and 7pm. For more details, call 01282 440272 or visit  www.nelson.ac.uk
