A specialist centre in Preston dedicated to treating people with complex spinal and brain injuries has been acquired by Blackpool firm Provisio Care Group.
The acquisition of Moor Park House means Provisio now operates three care homes in the north west, as well as a temporary staffing agency Provisio Care Force.
Commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney advised Provisio on the acquisition, which will see more than 200 staff at Moor Park House become part of the Provisio team.
Moor Park House is a modern, purpose built home which provides both residential and spinal, neuro and complex nursing care, with its Watling Care Centre also offering complex nursing care for adults with acquired brain injuries.
Owais Mohammad, chief executive at Provisio, said: “This acquisition serves as a landmark in our growth journey and cements our position as a leader in the region for specialist care. We’re really excited about our future and look forward to welcoming more than 200 colleagues and integrating the business into our group.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of our professional partners who have played an instrumental role in making this happen, including Schofield Sweeney, Gallagher insurance, Triodos Bank and Xeinadin.”
Steven Millward, corporate partner at Schofield Sweeney, led a multi disciplinary team on the acquisition, covering corporate, property, employment and tax.
He said: “Provisio Care Group is now an established leader in this specialist care field and bringing Moor Park House into the portfolio will see them go from strength to strength – it was a pleasure to work with Owais and the team.”
