Pendleside Hospice’s hugely popular annual Car Raffle is back for 2025.

The raffle has been running for more than 15 years and offers supporters a chance to win either a brand-new 25-plate Hyundai i10 Advance, kindly supplied at a discounted rate by West Riding Hyundai in Colne, or a generous cash prize of £10,000.

The prize pot has increased by £2,000 compared to last year, bringing it back up to a generous £10,000 and adding extra excitement to this year’s campaign.

For just £2 per ticket, supporters, aged over 16, can enter for their chance to win one of these exciting prizes, while helping raise vital funds for local hospice care. Last year’s local winner, Marie Vaughan, from Hapton, a long-standing supporter of Pendleside, proved that it really could be anyone’s lucky day.

This year, Pendleside is aiming to raise an incredible £40,000 through the raffle. These funds will go directly towards supporting patients and families across Burnley and Pendle who are facing advanced, long-term and life-limiting illnesses, and need the compassionate care and support Pendleside provides.

With the cost of running Pendleside now exceeding £6.5 million annually, fundraising initiatives like the Car Raffle are more important than ever. It is through the ongoing generosity of individuals, communities and businesses that the Hospice is able to continue offering its services to those who need them most.

Louisa Mayor, head of income generation at Pendleside, said: “Every year we are blown away by the support we receive from our local community and our business sponsors.

"It’s humbling to see people come together to support Pendleside, whether by buying a raffle ticket, taking part in one of our events, or simply sharing our message.

"The money raised helps us provide specialist care, emotional support and dignity to our patients and their families, and we couldn’t do it without you.”

The official launch of this year’s raffle took place on Monday, 21st April at Boundary Outlet, in Colne, where Louisa was joined by supporter engagement officer, Sheila Helm and a group of dedicated volunteers.

Despite the wet weather, the team braved the rain and welcomed Bank Holiday shoppers with smiles as they proudly showcased the brand-new Hyundai i10 on site.

Louisa said: “We had a great day at Boundary Outlet, even with the rain. We were situated at the front of the building and inside the café area, which gave us the opportunity to meet so many lovely people – not just from Burnley and Pendle, but even as far away as London.

"It’s always special to speak with people who know the hospice or have had a loved one cared for here. Their stories are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and why fundraising like this raffle is so important.”

As ever, Pendleside is grateful for the continued support of the local business community, whose sponsorship ensures that more of the money raised goes directly to patient care.

The 2025 Car Raffle is proudly sponsored by Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, Motia, Birchall Foodservice, Macadams Rescue & Accident Repair, and Plumbase, Nelson.

Gill Smith, managing director of Birchall Foodservice, shared her thoughts on this year’s raffle, “We’re proud to sponsor Pendleside Hospice’s 2025 Car Raffle and help raise vital funds for a cause that touches so many lives. The care and compassion provided by the Hospice is truly inspiring, and we’re delighted to play a small part in helping them continue their work.”

Tom Cosway, head of commercial at Motia, previously known as Fuel Card Services, added: “At Motia, we are proud to support Pendleside Hospice once again for their annual Car Raffle. Pendleside provides invaluable care and support to individuals and families during their most challenging times.

"Our continued partnership reflects our commitment to giving back to the community and helping ensure that Pendleside can continue proving care and support to those who need it.”

Every ticket sold helps to support Pendleside’s mission and keeps its services available to those living in our community.

In addition to the Car Raffle, there are many ways people can contribute, from individual fundraising and event participation, to signing up for the Pendleside Lottery or becoming a regular donor.

Entries for the 2025 Car Raffle close on Monday, 29th September 2025, with the draw taking place on Saturday, 18th October 2025.

Tickets are priced at just £2 each and can be purchased online or at participating events. On Saturday, 3rd May, you’ll find Pendleside’s fundraising team situated in the Fanzone at Burnley FC’s final game against Millwall.
