Capita set to be Blackburn with Darwen's technical partner

Business management and outsourcing firm Capita has been named as preferred bidder by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to become its technical services partner.

The partnership is expected to be worth £60m over the next five years with the potential for a further five.


The company, which has a long-standing relationship with the council,  has agreed a major contract designed to support economic growth, whilst also delivering cost savings.

Andy Parker, Capita’s chief executive, said: “We have been working with the council for 15 years, and this contract builds on that long-standing relationship.

“This partnership model will transform Blackburn with Darwen and drive further investment and funding into the area." Coun Andy Kay, executive member for resources for Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: "The services provided by our partner, Capita will  help us to grow our revenues, reduce our expenditure and transform the borough.”
