Businesswise offers savings to chamber members

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce members are to benefit from specialist energy and cost reduction advice from fellow member and Diamond Ambassador, Businesswise Solutions.

The Nelson-based business has partnered with the Chamber under the branding ‘Chamberwise’ to help East Lancashire businesses reduce costs and improve efficiencies, through knowledgeable procurement and management of essential business products and services.

Energy will play a huge part in their offer, and Businesswise predict big savings for members in light of the recent, dramatic price drops.

Frazer Durris, Businesswise Solutions’ managing director, said: “Prices are at the lowest we have seen in recent years and in some cases we have seen client savings of up to 50% since the beginning of 2015.

“We can lock in prices for customers up to 60 months before their contracts run out, so members needn’t think we can’t help them if they are locked in to existing contracts; we can.”

Businesswise Solutions currently boasts Chamber members such as Burnley Football Club and JJO as energy clients; closely monitoring their consumption levels through regular data reporting in order to keep costs low.

The company is also working with a number of Chamber members on a variety of cost reduction projects; the most recent being Heritage Envelopes, who Businesswise has helped save £24,000 a year on packaging costs.

Heritage Envelopes Logistics director, Martyn Salt met Businesswise Solutions’ director of cost reduction, Peter Catlow, through the Diamond Ambassadors network.

He said: “Peter demonstrated a good understanding about what we did, so we agreed to meet up to discuss possible cost savings options, one of which was ‘clean palleting’ for which we use some 65,000 non-slip pallet mats every year to ensure no damage to stock.

“I knew there were savings to be made in this area but simply lacked the time and resources to seek alternatives quotes.”

Businesswise was asked to seek quotes on their behalf and set about getting quotes from the incumbent supplier and other trusted suppliers.

Martyn said: “Just two weeks later Peter came back to us with a revised price and we couldn’t believe the savings he promised; £24,000 over 12 month, representing a 40% saving against existing costs.”

Martyn said: “We are really impressed with what Businesswise has done. We are now in talks with them regarding further projects in coming months. “It’s always good to support fellow Lancashire businesses and East Lancashire Chamber members and I cannot recommend them enough.”
