Businesswise aims for £5,000 charity donation
A Pendle company is pulling out all the stops to celebrate its fifth year in business, as it aims to raise £5,000 for a local charity.Businesswise Solutions, of Nelson, will be holding an event at Nelson Cricket Club on July 18th and with numerous fundraising activities planned to take place before and during the event, the company is hopeful it will reach its target.
The chosen charity is Petal, a local charity set up 17 years ago to raise funds specifically for research into childhood cancers for Cancer Research UK. In late 2013 Petal achieved its £1m milestone and is now in pursuit of its next million.Frazer Durris, co-founder and managing director of Businesswise Solutions said: “We wanted to mark our fifth year in business and celebrate with our family, friends and customers. We’ve had a remarkable journey and there are big plans for the future.
“It made sense to use our celebrations as a chance to raise vital funds for the Petal charity, and while £5,000 is ambitious, we’re certain we can achieve it together and have a night to remember at the same time."“We’re absolutely delighted that Businesswise Solutions have chosen to support Petal,” said Karen Mendoros, chairman of Petal. “We rely on support from local businesses in order to maximise our fundraising efforts and the team has been really enthusiastic about new ways to raise money on the night and we’re really looking forward to it.” Entertainment will be provided throughout the evening, including local band The Semis. There will also be various fundraising activities taking place such as a meal tree, a lock box, a raffle and an auction.
