Blackpool and The Fylde College’s roots go back 125 years and the college works with more than 1,000 businesses - nationally, regionally and locally - to deliver bespoke workforce development programmes across a wide variety of sectors.

Our highly-rated specialist approach is evident in our many accolades. We are Ofsted Outstanding, have been rated the most successful large college in England for student achievement for the last three years, received a gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework for our degree-level provision and were awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2015 for our technical and professional work in partnership with industry.

B&FC for Business is dedicated to helping companies flourish by co-creating skills programmes which are central to our client and stakeholder partnerships.

Responsiveness, flexibility and a commitment to delivering training which develops your workforce in line with your business strategy are central to our ethos.

Programmes are created in line with Local Enterprise Partnership priorities and our leadership team works closely with government to drive the national training agenda.

B&FC for Business understands the importance of tackling the skills gaps by empowering business workforces and offering individuals opportunities for personal growth and career developmen

Case study: BAE Systems

B&FC’s long relationship with leading defence contractor BAE Systems continues to deliver high-achieving employees for the business each year.

This near 15-year partnership has seen the college provide high-level training for the company in aeronautical engineering, degree apprenticeships in nuclear engineering and honours degrees in Project Management.

This work has been highly successful and the partnership was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2015.

Bernard Kellett, of BAE Systems Military Air & Information, said: “Our partnership with Blackpool and The Fylde College has helped produce a pipeline of talented people; many now have leading positions throughout our company.”
