Burnley firm scores Oscars success

Burnley sound engineering specialist AMS Neve has once again earned the highest praise in Hollywood.

AMS NeveSoundtracks from 59 Oscar nominated films were recorded on the Lancashire company’s equipment, including blockbusters such as James Bond thriller Skyfall, Les Miserables and the big winner on the night, Argo.

AMS Neve was involved in each of the films bidding for Best Original Score, which was clinched by Life of Pi, as well as all of the titles in the Best Animated Film category, in which Brave triumphed.

“It is fair to say rather more people know about us in Hollywood now than they do in Burnley,” said managing director Mark Crabtree.

“All our staff and engineers are really proud and excited to be able to feature in this internationally-recognised arena and to see Britain, and of course Burnley, playing such a dominant part in the creation of these iconic films.” The company, established in 1976, has a long history of Oscars success, including providing mixing desks and amplifiers for hit films such as Titanic, Avatar and last year’s silent epic The Artist.
