A firm of solicitors with more than 60 years’ experience is forging an exciting new partnership with Burnley College to share their expert knowledge.

Farleys Solicitors, who began as Farley Parker and Pickles in 1958, is well renowned throughout the whole of the North West for its exceptional skill and service.

Now three learners from Burnley College are being offered the exclusive opportunity to learn alongside the respected team of solicitors.

The students will work with the Farleys team of experts, discovering more about the ever-evolving world of law – covering subjects as diverse as criminal defence to employment law.

Farleys Solicitors has grown exponentially over the last six decades and expanded from property law into every imaginable field and expanded from its original offices in Blackburn to six different offices in Burnley, Blackburn, Manchester, Preston, Rawtenstall and Wigan.

Stephen Bolton, Head of Business Development at Farleys said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership agreement with Burnley College.

“Burnley remains at the forefront of our ambitious growth plans and this partnership demonstrates our commitment to both the borough and its community.”

Stephen added: “Farleys has an enviable record of developing and nurturing young talent, including trainee solicitors, paralegals and apprentices. We take great pride in seeing people succeed across the firm.

“The partnership is designed to support and develop students through mentoring and work experience and will ensure they receive a genuine insight into the legal profession.

“This isn’t about giving something back, this is about adding real value to their overall education, ensuring they are work ready.”

Neil Burrows, director of skills, innovation and employer engagement at Burnley College, said: “At Burnley College we believe in offering our Students the opportunity to work alongside true experts in their field and Farleys Solicitors is a prime example of that.

“They represent everything great about industry in Lancashire and beyond. They never look backwards; they look to the future and how they can grow and improve.

“Most importantly, they recognise the power of investing in young people and allowing them to explore and learn in real-world situations.

“We can’t wait to see what our Students learn and where this partnership goes next.”
