Bleasdale Cottages is excellence awards finalist

Bleasdale Cottages, near Preston, has been named as a finalist in the sustainable tourism award category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2014.

As a finalist Bleasdale Cottages now goes forward to the glittering awards ceremony which is being held on Monday 12 May 2014 at Cheltenham Racecourse, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The VisitEngland Awards attracted 368 applications for the 2014 Awards – an increase of 15% on 2013.

Bleasdale Cottages will have to wait until the Awards Ceremony to find out which award they will receive. All finalists are guaranteed to receive either a gold, silver, bronze or highly commended award.

Speaking on behalf of Bleasdale Cottages, Anne Gardner said, “We were delighted when we won the Lancashire Tourism Awards, Green Tourism Category so to go through to the national finals and represent Lancashire is such an achievement and one we are extremely proud of.” The annual Lancashire Tourism Awards, organised by Marketing Lancashire, provide an opportunity for local tourism businesses to progress to the annual VisitEngland Excellence Awards where they then represent the county on a national level.
