Blackpool promotional products manufacturer completes acquisition

SPS (EU) Ltd, the Blackpool-based manufacturer and supplier of promotional products, has acquired High Profile Plastic Products in a move that will further strengthen the organisation’s offering when it comes to British-made promotional products.

SPS and High ProfileFollowing a successful management buy out in 2014, SPS has experienced excellent growth, largely due to a commitment to innovation, operational excellence and new product development.

The company manufactures a wide range of promotional products, including drinkware, mouse mats and keyrings. It completes its offering with a selection of high quality imported products, all of which are then branded at the 82,000 sq ft facility on Squires Gate Lane.

With ambitious plans for growth, the leadership team at SPS view the acquisition of High Profile as a fantastic move for Great British manufacturing, as both companies will benefit from the shared experience, knowledge and business processes. Established over 25 years ago, High Profile, based in Banbury, manufacture and print to a wide range of plastic products, with specialist expertise in producing bespoke products.

Phil Morgan, CEO of SPS, said: “SPS and High Profile are a great, natural fit, thanks to the strong portfolio of British-made products. We’ve seen a massive increase in demand for our manufactured products, in particular drinkware, and we have been keen to increase the range of UK-made products in our range.

"As a manufacturer of bespoke plastic products, High Profile have a product range which fits perfectly with our existing selection. The blend of our design teams, toolmaking experience and production expertise will be a great benefit to both companies. Additionally, High Profile will benefit from the design innovation and sales and marketing channels of SPS, allowing a greater presence in both the UK and Europe.”

Both companies are keen to assure customers that it will be very much ‘business as usual’ following this acquisition, with the two key contacts at High Profile, Richard Wood and Richard Hope-Jones, remaining at the helm. Celia Graham will continue as an account manager, and all customer service and production operations will continue to be handled by the High Profile team.

Richard Wood said: “I’m delighted that High Profile will be part of a group with such a strong focus on British-manufacturing. I’m very much looking forward to seeing how our shared ideas and manufacturing knowledge will serve to take both companies forward. This move will also be great for further establishing the High Profile product range in the UK and across Europe, thanks to the existing sales and marketing channels at SPS.” Phil Morgan concluded: “Both SPS and High Profile have great reputations in the industry, as well-established and trusted trade-only suppliers. We are confident that the synergy between our two companies will bring great benefits to the promotional merchandise market as a whole, as we continue to develop new and innovative products.”
