Fagan & Whalley is a logistics, distribution and warehousing business with its head office in Padiham. Founded in 1927, Fagan & Whalley remains a family business headed up by 5th generation brothers Graham and Stephen Fagan, with 6th generation working in the business. With its focus on people and with deep roots in the area, the business is committed to its corporate responsibility and genuine commitment to the community. By joining the Patron network during the Covid-19 pandemic, Fagan & Whalley is enabling Blackburn Youth Zone to reach more vulnerable young people and families who need us now more than ever.

Blackburn Youth Zone is located in the centre of Blackburn. It exists to create a positive future for young people of Blackburn with Darwen, promoting cohesion, skills and aspirations, and health and wellbeing.

During the pandemic, Blackburn Youth Zone has been able to quickly adapt its services focusing on reaching young people at home, by delivering food parcels, delivering online activities and doing one to one support for the most vulnerable BYZ members. Now Blackburn Youth Zone doors are back open, young people are engaged in fun and safe activities in a safe environment following Government guidelines.

Support from local businesses and individuals is crucial to the ongoing success of Blackburn Youth Zone. In order to provide the support that young people deserve, Blackburn Youth Zone needs to raise a minimum of £1million every year – 75% of this comes from fundraising, including support from local businesses, known as Patrons.

Rt Hon Jack Straw, Chairman of Blackburn Youth Zone said: “Fagan & Whalley is an impressive firm with a long local history. Their commitment to serving the community is commendable, especially considering the timing of their support which comes at a critical time in uncertain economic circumstances. They are a business that puts people at the heart of what they do. They will make a fantastic patron for the Youth Zone. On behalf of the whole Youth Zone team, volunteers, members and board, I would like to thank Fagan & Whalley for its support which will be spent improving the lives and prospects of thousands of local youngsters.”

Stephen Fagan of Fagan and Whalley said: “As a local family run business, our people-centred culture is something we are particularly passionate about. Through our dedication to our apprentice schemes and links to local colleges, we understand the importance of providing the support and development our younger generation need to thrive and flourish in their aspirations. We are honoured in becoming a proud Patron supporter of The Blackburn Youth Zone, with the important work they do, standing as fundamental foundations to support a stronger innovative community for our future generations”.
