Blackburn set for creative investment
Blackburn town centre is to receive £85,000 from the Arts Council for an ambitious two-year programme of artistic projects.

The council said it hopes the scheme will help kick-start the local economy and spur on regeneration.
The project includes support to help the careers of Blackburn College students, a partner in the project, studying the arts and creative industries. Artists, photographers and film-makers will be given access to studio space and assistance in establishing presences in some of the town centre's empty shops. The funding will also secure the future of the Founded festival, an annual programme of live art, music and technology which is currently in its second year.
