A Blackburn property and retail group says an announcement that a major window company relocating to Blackburn is a 'positive boost' for the town.
The Adhan Group has revealed that AluFold Windows, which entered administration earlier this year, has been acquired by Unique Window Systems.
The letting team at the Adhan Group has helped the Leicester-based firm is relocating its operations to a 60,000 sq ft facility at Whitebirk Business Park.
Adhan Group released a statement and says the company will continue to trade under the AluFold name.
An Adhan Group spokesman said: “This move is a major achievement for the team and a positive boost for Blackburn and the wider Lancashire region.
“It is expected to bring new opportunities for employment, training, and local business collaboration, strengthening the area’s industrial and economic growth.
"Securing this long-term lease for AluFold underlines our commitment to supporting businesses in Lancashire and creating local opportunities.
"We are thrilled to see the AluFold name in Blackburn, providing stability for staff and suppliers alike."
The Adhan Group brothers, Salim Patel and Mustaq Khanjra, added that it has been a ‘great pleasure working with the Unique Window family, highlighting the positive partnership and shared vision for the business’s future’.
The brothers featured in Lancashire Business View’s Family Business feature earlier this year and they have an expanding commercial property portfolio which includes Blackburn’s Mall and Graham and Brown’s former India Mill site.
Unique Window Systems is a multi-award-winning fabricator of UPVC and aluminium windows and doors.
Sunil Patel, joint managing director at Unique, said: “Having recently increased our turnover to £45m and growing, we are in a strong position to invest in the business, and the acquisition of AluFold’s assets gives us the opportunity to further boost our aluminium capabilities.
“With more companies being forced to close their doors in ongoing difficult market conditions, we are particularly pleased that the acquisition will help us grow further and retain capacity in the industry.
“We have already celebrated 20 years in business this year, but we are not resting on our laurels.
“Our longevity makes us even more ambitious.
"We want to continue to give our installers, and their homeowner customers, and the wider commercial market everything they need now and in the future, and as the demand for aluminium window and doors continues to grow, it’s a great time for us to strengthen our geographical footprint.”
The deal was supported by Gunner Cooke LLP and Freeths LLP from a legal perspective and Torr Waterfield as accountants and business advisors
