Blackburn based MGS Technical Plastics in running for two major awards

Fast-growing plastic injection moulding specialist MGS Plastics is vying for two prestigious awards just three years after undergoing in a £2m overhaul.

The Blackburn-based company has been shortlisted for both the Manufacturer of the Year and overall Business of the Year titles at the Lancashire-wide Be Inspired Business Awards.

The company designs, develops, manufactures, assembles and distributes plastic parts around the world for sectors including wash-room, safety, pest control, automotive, hygiene, medical, electrical, chemical, oil and gas.

A panel of hand-selected judges which interviewed the management team and visited the company’s premises will now decide which company earns the awards and gains a sought-after place in the BIBAs Winners Academy.

The BIBAs are among the biggest regional business awards in the UK, with 1,000 guest expected at the prize-giving ceremony

Neil Garrity, manufacturing director, said: “The last five years have seen MGS go under a significant transformation. Our relocation and expansion has been a nine-figure investment and it is already paying dividends.

“Our main aim is to cement our place at the forefront of a rapidly-evolving industry to ensure our customers benefit from the highest quality products and services on the market. The feedback and sales have all been extremely positive so far, but awards like these are fantastic for showing that our peers also believe in what we’re doing - and to take the trophy home would be an excellent way to reward our hard-working staff.” The winners of 17 awards, including MGS Plastics’ two categories, will be unveiled at a celebrity-headlined awards ceremony taking place in the World Famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom on September 16.
