Birchall Foodservice, based in Burnley, has partnered with Treeapp to support the planting of 734 trees in its own dedicated forest in Yorkshire, marking another step forward in the company's commitment to sustainability.
The new woodland will feature a diverse mix of native species, helping to restore habitats, strengthen biodiversity and support soil health and carbon storage.
Treeapp works with businesses to make tree planting a measurable part of their environmental strategies, providing impact reporting, satellite tracking and project updates.
The partnership also creates opportunities for Birchall Foodservice's employees, customers and suppliers to get involved, with progress shared through the company's dedicated Treeapp Impact Page.
Charlie Bennett, business administration apprentice at Birchall Foodservice, who developed the project, said: “I'm passionate about protecting our environment, so it's incredibly exciting to see the Birchall Forest take root and create a lasting positive impact.”
The Yorkshire forest is intended to be the beginning of a long-term partnership, with plans being explored for further planting projects and opportunities to involve the wider Birchalls community.
A visit to the Yorkshire planting site is planned for 25 November, allowing members of the team to see the project first-hand.
The initiative forms part of Birchall Foodservice's wider sustainability efforts, supporting positive environmental change while bringing colleagues, customers and suppliers along on the journey.
