Bigtank thriving after flood damage

Blackburn-based video production agency Bigtank Video Productions is back on its feet after severe flood damage forced them out of their old Rawtenstall site.

Thanks to specialist industry insurance they were able to replace their damaged kit and relocate to new premises on Shadsworth Industrial Park alongside Loop Studios who they share studio space with.

Managing director, Rob Hallam, said: “Thankfully the outcome is really positive and we have ended up with better premises out of it all.

“We spent three years at our previous site in Rawtenstall next to the River Irwell which, during the heavy flooding in January, completely destroyed our offices and the extremely expensive camera equipment we had.

“We have shared studio space with Loop Studios for two years so it made sense to move together. The space here at Shadsworth was available and offered great office and studio space for both of us.

“Lots of companies came out of the woodwork to help us out and we even had support from the council who helped us buy new office furniture.

“Fortunately, we had specialist industry-specific media insurance which meant we were able to replace all of our costly and essential camera equipment with minimal fuss given the circumstances.

“Thankfully business didn’t take massive hit and we were able to continue with many of our jobs. We’re now in a position where we can kick on and continue to grow the business working on many exciting projects with our clients.”

And there's no better example of this than Bigtank's work with Blackburn-based e-cigarette firm Totally Wicked.

Rob said: "We handled this project from start to finish and in conjunction with Ryburn Media have launched a campaign that will run on ITV and Sky until mid May.

"We love working with Totally Wicked and have done since 2008. They are a very progressive company and jumped at the chance to get involved in a TV advert campaign. "The visuals for the advert were filmed at their Blackburn store and their Stancliffe Street Head office using actual staff for most of the scenes. It's a proud moment for us seeing our work on ITV but also to see a great local company like Totally Wicked doing so well."
