Beer festival raises £30,000
The Blackburn Beer Festival 2015 raised £30,000 for Blackburn Youth Zone across the three days.The money raise far exceeded the expectations of the organisers.
It will be used to continue providing a safe and positive space for young people aged eight to 18 in the Blackburn area.Peter Little, chief executive of Blackburn Youth Zone, said: "This is an ambitious project that provides world-class sports and arts facilities 365 days a year for just 50p a visit, improving prospects and opportunities for thousands of local young people.
"The team here are thrilled with the amount raised."Last year over 1,900 people joined the festival, which took place at Blackburn Rugby Club raising over £20,000 for the Blackburn Youth Zone. This year’s event was even bigger. Sponsored by award-winning brewer Daniel Thwaites, accountancy firm PM+M and Farleys Solicitors, the festival showcased more than 60 real ales from across the North West and beyond, plus an eclectic selection of ciders and lagers.
