Beer fans to flock to charity festival
The organisers of the Blackburn Beer Festival 2019, which returns to Blackburn Rugby Club on the 3rd, 4th and 5th May, say it is set to be 'the best one yet'.
More than 70 local businesses have shown their support for the popular event which raises vital funds for Blackburn Youth Zone. Businesses will be invited to a VIP sponsor afternoon on the 3rd May from 12pm to open the festival weekend.
Around 1,500 festival-goers are expected to attend the three-day event which will boast more than 80 beer and ciders from across the UK selected by Bowland Brewery. The festival will also have a pop-up Whalley Wine Shop, who will be serving a range of gins and the finest wine.
The event will also feature live music, street food and rugby throughout the weekend.
This year, the headline sponsors are Totally Wicked, Farleys Solicitors and Hippo Motor Group.
Stuart Mercer, operations director at Totally Wicked, said: "We are delighted to again be headline sponsors for this fantastic event; a great social occasion for those attending, but more importantly an opportunity to contribute to a charity which provides so much support and opportunity to so many young people in Blackburn.
Events such as this are vital to Blackburn Youth Zone's continued success.
"The Blackburn Youth Zone goes from strength to strength and events such as this are vital to its continued success."
Tom Preston, managing director of the Hippo Motor Group, added: "It’s a pleasure to be one of the main headline sponsors for a great event for the town and it should be a fantastic three-day event where over 1,500 people are expected to attend.
"It is also an honour to continue supporting Blackburn Youth Zone as our chosen charity of the year given the vast amount of opportunities it provides for so many young people across Blackburn.”
