Barnfield Construction has continued its support for Colne’s Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival by being named as main sponsors once again for what is one of Lancashire’s flagship events.

The North West based contractor, developer and investor has been a financial supporter of the festival for several years, and was a proud sponsor of the highly successful event in 2023, which saw over 25,000 people visit Colne over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Returning this year from 23rd-25th August, Colne Town Council in association with the Colne Blues Society are finalising plans for the 2024 festival, with the very best blues artists in the UK right now, as well as some exceptionally talented local musicians performing across three days at the Pendle Hippodrome, The Exchange Project Stage and new for this year, The Little Theatre Acoustic Stage.

Full festival tickets are priced at just £110, working out at just over £2 per band over the weekend, while individual day tickets are also available, alongside camping tickets.

Early bird tickets have already sold out for this year’s event, with two of the headliners having already been announced, including multi-award winning guitarist Dom Martin and Kyla Brox, described as “the finest female blues singer of her generation”.

Keep an eye on the Great British R&B Festival social media channels and website for further announcements. Festival tickets and camping tickets can be purchased here: https://www.bluesfestival.co.uk/tickets/

Alongside the three main venues, Colne Blues Society will also be programming the Official Fringe Festival which will see acts performing at pubs, clubs and venues across five days, all of which are free to attend.

Nathan Cutler, Colne Town Council’s events officer, said: “We are excited to announce that Barnfield Construction are continuing their incredible support for The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival by being main sponsors once again for the 2024 event.

“Their backing and support has been hugely important for this festival over the years and will be instrumental as we look to deliver another spectacular event in August.”

Jonathan Nixon, estimator at Barnfield Construction, commented: “We are extremely proud to be supporting our local area and community for yet another year as main sponsors of this flagship event.

“Being based in Pendle, the festival is very well attended by many members of the Barnfield team, and it is great to see so many people coming together to celebrate live music and the town of Colne.”

Simon Shackleton, festival coordinator at Colne Blues Society, added: “It is great to be officially launching the 2024 festival alongside our valued sponsors Barnfield Construction.

“We are busy working on finalising what is an exciting line-up for 2024, with some great surprises along the way. Stay tuned for those!”
