Staff at Auto Windscreen's Preston centre have been warned they face losing their jobs after the company announced it was considering closing the site.

No information has been released as to how many jobs will be lost or whether staff could be relocated to other centres but James Macbeth, operations director at Auto Windscreens confirmed a consultation had been launched with Preston staff.

In a statement he said: "We have informed employees at our Preston Regional Deployment Centre of a proposal to close the site and are currently engaged in consultations with them. This follows a review of the centre and the wider business to assess the financial viability of keeping the location operational." More information will be provided as we get it.
