Caddick Developments has secured approval to deliver Phase 2 of a new employment hub in Leyland.
The first phase of Farington Park is now completed, capped by the 544,000 sq ft letting to Victorian Plumbing, and now the follow-up has received the green light from South Ribble Borough Council
It is hoped that the logistics and warehousing development will result in a significant employment boost to the area, totalling over 170 jobs once completed. Across the two phases, up to 1,800 jobs will now be created.
Located on land at the south of the Lancashire Business Park, the design of Farington Park Phase 2 includes four mid-box units, totalling 96,000 sq ft.
Tom Park, associate director at Caddick Developments, said: “With its perfect location and high-quality design, this development is set to attract businesses regionally and nationally, and in turn provide a welcome boost to local employment, adding another dimension to our now completed Phase 1 scheme.
"Through ongoing community liaison and the provision of local jobs and apprenticeships through the construction phase, we have always aimed to listen carefully to local businesses and communities.
"Our most recent investment of over half a million pounds has allowed us to provide much needed investment into a missing section of the Leyland Loop, as well as promoting active lifestyles and sustainable travel. We are also very gratified to hear positive feedback from local residents on the extensive tree planting that we have introduced to the area."
