Apprenticeships power the future at QUEST

11 Apr 2023

Quest Electrical

QUEST Electrical is Burnley’s leading wholesale and industrial electrical contractor.

Established in 1993, we are proud to have established many long-lasting relationships with major businesses across Lancashire and the UK, working as their preferred supplier.

We guarantee a quality and professional service, backed by a highly trained and accredited team who are committed to delivering industrial electrical installations to the highest standards.

At QUEST we believe that apprentices are our future and currently have apprentice account managers studying business administration level 3 qualification through Burnley College working within our wholesale team.

Recruitment for our wholesale division can be difficult, as people experienced in the industry tend to stay put!

This is why we chose to invest in training and developing the next generation of experienced account managers.

Over the past 12 months we have grown the number of electrical apprentices to 14 at varying stages of their qualifications and based throughout the North West and Yorkshire.

Our youngest apprentice is 16 years old and our oldest is 31 years old.

Each apprentice is teamed with a qualified electrician to train and mentor them onsite whilst also attending college on day release or block to gain their level 3 in installing electrotechnical systems and equipment.

We work closely with both JTL and Burnley College to recruit and secure college places for our apprentices.

Our people are our greatest asset, and we are committed to offering a career to our team, along with the reward and recognition they deserve.

Professional and personal development is a key focus within the business and is personally lead by our managing director Andrew Wood, who established our in-house Professional Development Academy.

With a lot of hard work, determination and support apprentices can have a long, rewarding and successful career with QUEST.

Apprenticeship sparks career change

Ryan Cardwell started his working career with QUEST in 2011 as a Level 2 business administration apprentice.

Whilst working in this role Ryan decided he wanted to change the direction of his career and become an electrician.

In 2012 he embarked on his four-year apprenticeship and was fully supported by QUEST through his training.

Ryan has progressed to become a qualifying supervisor and is now our quality manager imparting his knowledge and experience to our new generation of apprentices.

He is a highly-skilled and valued member of our team.
