Lancaster University is regarded as one of the top institutions in the country with an excellent reputation for both research and teaching.

Founded in 1964, we are ranked in the top ten in all three major UK league tables and are proud to be the Times University of the Year 2018.

We are an approved provider of the new higher level Senior Leaders Master’s Degree Apprenticeship and CETAD, Lancaster University’s work-based learning centre and part of the university’s prestigious, quadruple-accredited Management School, is ready with a programme for launch in September 2018.

We are already working in partnership with a number of organisations co-designing bespoke programmes that integrate the Lancaster University MA/MSC in Professional Practice (Senior Leadership) with the Senior Leaders Apprenticeship standards; and will eligible for full levy funding (subject to confirmation by the IoA).

Senior Leader Masters Degree Apprenticeship Programme

Use the Apprenticeship levy to make Senior Leader Apprenticeships part of your business

Who is it for?

This dual award is suitable for aspiring senior leaders in public, private or third sector organisations. We work with you to co-design a flexible programme around organisational need, taking into account requirements to demonstrate competence against the apprenticeship standards.

Apprentices typically have a minimum of three years of management or leadership experience and be seeking to develop theur strategic leadership capability. Admission to the programme is dependent on aptitude and experience; prior qualifications are not always necessary.

What qualification will be awarded?

Successful completion of the Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship Programme will lead to the award of a Lancaster University Masters in Professional Practice (Senior Leadership). There is also an option to achieve professional recognition through the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) or Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

How is the programme delivered?

Through facilitated online study; thematic workshops, on campus or at your organisation’s premises; individual support from a university-based mentor; regular tutorials and workplace visits. The full programme lasts approximately 26 months, though some participants may complete more quickly by claiming module exemption based on previous academic, professional or experiential learning.
