Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall (WHN) Solicitors has further strengthened its senior legal team with the appointment of Alex Walsh as commercial property director.
Alex joins WHN following a 20-year career as a commercial property solicitor for prominent national and North West law firms. This includes previous partner positions at Clarke Willmott and Prosperity Law.
He specialises in a range of commercial property matters such as acquisitions and disposals, leases and licences, estate management, and corporate support.
Alex will be based at WHN’s Bury office, servicing clients across Greater Manchester and Lancashire including owner-managed businesses, investors, banks, charities and other organisations.
His appointment is the latest step by the firm to strengthen its senior legal team.
It follows the recruitment of Sean Aldridge as wills and probate director earlier this year and the promotion of Katie Wright to head of the firm’s Clitheroe office in late 2025.
Michael Shroot, chief executive of WHN Solicitors, said: “As WHN continues to grow our presence across the North West, the recruitment and development of senior legal experts who truly understand the region is vital across all services.
“Alex has advised businesses, investors and other stakeholders in the region’s commercial property market for over two decades, developing the deep long-term relationships that drive sustainable growth.
“This experience and knowledge will benefit both our clients and our staff as we continue to expand over the coming years.”
WHN’s commercial property team includes Legal 500-recognised lawyers advising clients across a full range of contentious and non-contentious issues such as lease, purchase and sales transactions, secured lending, tenancy agreements, funding agreements and commercial property litigation matters.
Alex said: “The success of any law firm is built on how its team operates – both with clients and with each other.
“I was already aware of WHN’s strong reputation for client relationships but since I began speaking with the firm, I’ve been struck by the professional, friendly and collaborative way that the team works together to deliver the very best service possible – something I’m excited to be part of.”
