Andy Long joins Seriun as their new account manager

Highly experienced IT account manager Andy Long makes his move to Seriun to join their bustling sales team.

Originally from Middleton, North Manchester, Andy has made home in numerous places in the UK over the years, including Chester and North Wales, but has now settled in Chadderton. He lives there with his wife Hayley and their three children: Freddie (11) Oliver (14) and Connie (17).

Besides IT Andy also had a keen interest in microbiology and studied the subject at Salford university. However, his underlying passion to work in tech made him focus his efforts on securing a career in IT which began at PC World Business where he was part of the Network Solutions team. Since then, he has worked as Regional Partner for Manchester at Stonehouse Logic, Account Manager at IT Lab and Business Development Manager at NCS IT.

Taking the next step in his career Andy has now joined the Seriun team as Account Manager working alongside Annemarie Whatmough developing relationships with Seriun’s customers. He has worked with many of the Seriun team before during his previous stint at Stonehouse Logic… Following Chess’ acquisition of Stonehouse Logic in 2018, Seriun reaped the rewards as many of the original team from Stonehouse Logic, as well as customers, decided to make a move to Seriun. It was a great year for the leading MSP as their customer base expanded rapidly but so did their team.

Seriun’s operations director Mark said: “Andy brings a wealth of experience with him and he’s a natural with our customers. I’ve worked with Andy for many years at Stonehouse – he’s a great guy and regarded as an IT legend in the industry! Great to have him on board and work with him once again.”

When he’s not working, Andy enjoys spending time with his family. They love attending music festivals and going camping whenever they can. They are a very musical family – Andy plays the guitar and little bit of piano, which he is passing onto his children by teaching them too. He used to be a wedding photographer so is an expert with the camera! He’s also an avid Man United fan and likes to keep up to date with their successes.

Visiting many travel destinations, one of Andy’s most interesting has been when he drove to Prague via Hamburg and to Berlin not long after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Taking an interest towards history he found Berlin particularly interesting during that period.

When Andy was 16, he played at his first gig as a guitarist with a singer called Viktor Brox who has been described by artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Tina Turner as their favourite white blues singer and has played with many other famous artists.

Andy commented “I am excited to be joining Seriun, a company I’ve been observing for many years. The fact I know so many of the team makes the initial transition a lot easier and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team and the customer base.’
