#AmazingAccrington announces Christmas lights switch-on line-up

#AmazingAccrington have announced a sensational line-up of acts for the 2022 Accrington Christmas Light Switch On taking place on Thursday 24th November.

The Take That Experience will be headlining a wonderful evening of live entertainment on the main stage which will also include live music from Gavin Young, a collective school choir, the Neil Diamond Experience, Jack & the Beanstalk panto, fire eaters dance act Desi Nach, the fantastic Accrington Pipe Band, as well as special appearances from Accrington Stanley and Accrington Stanley Women players.

The entertainment will get underway from 4pm, compered by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Stephen Lowe, with the countdown to the Light Switch On starting at 7:35pm before a fireworks display at 7:40pm. The event is being sponsored by North Lancs Training Group, Sundown Solutions, Accrington & Rossendale College, Hyndburn Borough Council and Financial Affairs.

Accrington Market will also be transformed into a spectacular Christmas Market including over 70 stalls and headlined by Great Harwood based business Finch Bakery, as well as other great local businesses including Brie Mine, while shops inside the market will also be open on the night including the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters Trust club shop.

There will also be a number of great #ShopLocal offers available on the night, with many Hyndburn independents open on the night.

Marlene Howarth, deputy leader of Hyndburn Council, said: “The Christmas Light Switch On is the best event of the year and I can’t wait to see the town centre packed again, with family and friends having fun and enjoying all the fantastic activities on the square and in the market hall.

“We want everyone attending to embrace #ShopLocal – we have so many wonderful local businesses here in Accrington and this is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate them.”
