AM Services hired by Morecambe's Arndale

Heysham-based AM Services Group has been appointed by The Arndale Centre in Morecambe to provide security and cleaning services.

The contract was handed out by new owners NewRiver, and helps begin to prepare the shopping centre for the future opening of the nearby Eden Project.

The deal represents a significant addition to AM Services Group's retail portfolio which also includes the Marketgate shopping centre in Lancaster.

Managing director Greg O’Brien said: “Our business is proud to be able to bring a wide range of expertise, experience and best practice in management, operations, staff training and development, and to be able to deliver this on a local level."

The Arndale Centre attracts millions of shoppers each year, with a range of tenants selling food, clothing and technology, with a new St John’s Hospice furniture shop opening soon.

Colette Grover, who began managing the Arndale last summer, said: “We are working hard to provide an excellent facility that is at the heart of our community, and we are keen to select suppliers who can help us do this.

"With the promising future development of our area through the Eden Project, we want to make sure that we have the right infrastructure in place to maximise this opportunity for our retailers and customers.”
