Alcedo Care Group has promoted 33-year-old Adam Garvey to the role of group events manager.

The largest independently-owned and family run care provider in the North of England with offices across Lancashire, Alcedo has significant plans for growth; Adam’s new role supports the company’s expansion objectives by driving recruitment and highlighting the rewards that come with a career in the care sector.

In his new role, Adam takes responsibility for the company’s striking low wheelbase exhibition-style corporate vehicle, taking it out and about across the North West to communicate Alcedo’s service offering to potential new users and highlight career opportunities to potential new employees.

Partnering with schools, colleges and universities, he will take the vehicle to open days and careers fairs to inform, inspire and encourage the next generation of healthcare professionals. He will also take it to high footfall events including county fetes, festivals and shows to build brand awareness and chat to potential new employees at their leisure.

Adam will also support the company’s ever growing network of branches by taking the vehicle to new office openings.  He will also attend charity and community events to help worthy causes raise funds to help those in need.

Commenting on his new role, Adam said: “I’m delighted to take on this new challenge and aim to ensure that everyone across Cheshire and the North West has heard about Alcedo and knows what we can offer – whether that is exceptional home care for themselves or a loved one, or a rewarding career with fantastic potential for the right candidates.

“Over the course of this year, I will be aiming to build the events team, growing the department so that we can have more than one vehicle at an event at the same time or attend more than one event on the same day.  It really is a brilliant new challenge and I’m looking forward to getting it all underway!”

Prior to joining Alcedo Care Group, Adam worked in hospitality, most recently as manager of a restaurant.  Before this, he worked in hotels for more than 10 years covering all aspects of running the property from rotas, day-to-day shift management and risk assessments.

With the aftermath of the Covid pandemic still affecting the hospitality sector, Adam was looking for a change and decided to pursue a new career in the care sector.  After starting as a carer, he quickly moved through different positions including supervisor, care assessor and training manager which brought him to this new position of group events manager.

Well qualified to chat to anyone about a career in care, Adam has just graduated with a Degree in Health and Social Care which equips him perfectly for his new challenge.

Managing director at Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, said: “Having demonstrated his passion for caring, Adam is exactly the right person to go out and chat to potential new customers and also new employees about the Alcedo Care Group and everything we can offer for service users and those who join our team.  I am fully confident he will excel in this role.”

When not working, Adam likes to spend time with his husband going on days out and short weekend breaks.  He also has a menagerie of animals including guinea pigs, birds, fish, dogs and chickens and finds looking after his animal family very relaxing after a long day covering many miles on the road in the vehicle.

Recently rated one of the Top 20 home care groups for the third year running by leading reviews website homecare.co.uk, Alcedo Care offers Domiciliary Care Services, Live-in Care, Nurse-Led Complex Care Services, Supported Living and Children’s Services and has fast gained an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice in the North West thanks to its superb 1,000-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by passionate husband and wife team, Andy and Jo Boardman, and with the support of their fantastic management team, the company is expanding at pace and aims to double in size over the next 12 months with the recruitment of more than 1,000 new carers.  For more information on the home care services provided by Alcedo Care, or to enquire about a fulfilling and rewarding new career in care, please visit www.alcedocare.co.uk
