Fast growing Alcedo Care Group has recruited Nicki Grain to manage its recently opened office on Morecambe Road in Lancaster.

In her new role, Nicki takes responsibility for the day-to-day running of the new office and its 28-strong team ensuring the ongoing delivery of Alcedo’s award winning portfolio of personal care, support and nursing services to clients across the region.

She will focus on working with the team to deliver an exceptional level of care to clients wishing to remain independent in their own homes, working with each one on an individual basis to provide a care package that meets their particular needs and communicating with their next of kin to provide peace of mind in these often uncertain times.

She will also look after the employee team overseeing everything from the coordination of weekly rotas, days off and annual leave to ongoing staff training, personal development and career progression and work with the wider management team to help the business fulfil its expansion plans for the area.

Well qualified for a career in care, Nicki’s previous two roles were in the more specialist area of mental health, supporting individuals with a mental health diagnosis who were suffering with addiction, poverty and/or homelessness and needed to access services and financial support to meet their needs and improve their quality of life.

Delighted with her appointment, Nicki commented: “I am so passionate about working in the health and social care sector and am really pleased to have joined a company that shares my commitment to caring for others.  Alcedo has a wonderful reputation for compassionate client care which I hope to build upon as we develop and grow the Lancaster office, and a superb approach to employee development which I hope will enable me to continue to further my own career over years to come.”

Managing director at Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, added: “Nicki was the obvious choice for this role, she has some great experience which I know will be invaluable to us as we grow this office, but she is also a real people person who is committed to care and this shines through in everything that she does.”

38-year-old Nicki has a BA (Hons) degree in Health and Social Care, an NVQ3 in Childcare and Education and a Foundation Degree in Working with Young People in the Community.  She lives in Freckleton, near Preston, with her fiancé Chris and their five children, and when not working, enjoys days out and spending time with the kids.

Established in 2017, Alcedo Care continues to expand at pace and is fast gaining an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice thanks to its superb 500-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by Andy and Jo Boardman, a passionate husband and wife team, the company aims to bring something different to the sector based on recruiting only the very best carers and retaining them by placing value on job satisfaction, training, continued professional development, internal promotion prospects and pay structure.  This combined with using the very latest technology is what sets the Alcedo Care Group apart from other home care providers.

With offices in Southport, Blackpool, Wigan, Preston and now Lancaster, Alcedo Care offers home care services across the whole of the North West region and was recently rated joint best in the UK by online home care review website homecare.co.uk.  For further information on the range of home care services provided by Alcedo Care, or to discuss home care for yourself or a loved one, please visit www.alcedocare.co.uk or call the new office in Lancaster on 01524 958700.
